What We Do
Counselling
We all at times find ourselves stumbling along in what we feel to be darkness, wondering how we got there and where we are going. The hope at Noohra Psychology is that through creating a safe space to tell your story and explore your current situation as well as the paths that led you there, you will begin to discover the new pathways or choices available to you. Amy is well-versed in the use of CBT, ACT and Narrative therapy, and compliments these more traditional approaches with creative therapeutic techniques and a wholistic view of the client experience.
Amy has experience delivering Macquarie University’s “Cool Kids Anxiety Program”, and tailors her counselling work with children and adolescents to suit the particular needs and personality of the client and their family. Where appropriate, Amy works in close partnership with parents, school, and other services relevant to the young person.
Consultation
Mental health and wellbeing issues within communities and organisations create particular areas of need and challenge. Amy is available to consult with schools, churches, workplaces and other organisations on ethical and professional issues related to staff, student, or parishioner wellbeing in order to provide innovative psychological solutions and preventative interventions.
